About Us

A favorite candle, a little creativity, and a whole lot of fragrance.

We’re Jim and Anita, the husband-and-wife team behind Taking You There Candle Co. Our story started during COVID in 2020, when a favorite candle became impossible to find. That sent us down the rabbit hole of making our own—experimenting with waxes, fragrances, and vessels.

Things may have gotten a little out of hand—in the best way. Our delivery drivers stop by so often that we know their names and life stories. Apparently, candle supplies come with new friends.

As we learned to pour, we also became particular about ingredients. We hand pour our candles in small batches in Tampa, Florida, using 100% soy wax and rich, layered fragrances. No petroleum-based waxes. Our fragrance oils are formulated without phthalates, parabens, known carcinogens, or known hormone-disrupting ingredients.

We believe you should be able to light your favorite candle every day without feeling like you’re setting a $50 bill on fire. We keep our prices within reach so our fragrances can take you wherever you want to go, whenever you need a little escape. No special occasion required.

Why Taking You There?

Your grandmother’s kitchen. A favorite vacation. Someone you miss. Fragrance can bring you back in an instant—and that’s where our name comes from.

We often name our candles at 5 o’clock in the morning, sometimes before coffee. We smell a fragrance and ask each other, “What does this make you see? What does it make you feel? Where does it take you?” Sometimes it brings back a memory. Sometimes it makes us laugh. The lack of coffee probably explains a few of the names.

And then there are Jim’s room sprays—he’s the man behind that curtain!

Company coming? Want your favorite fragrance right now? A couple of spritzes deliver that instant gratification. Think of them as your fragrance “primer”—start with a spray or two, then let your candle take over as it warms.

Our 2 oz Poofs are perfect for powder rooms. A little spritz and poof! That’s better.

Artificial Christmas tree? Bring that evergreen feeling into the room with And the Tree Came Crashing Down (Fraser fir) or Icicle Branches. And yes, our 12-foot Christmas tree really did come crashing down. Darn cat.

We love making things that bring a little happiness into someone’s day. Thank you for letting us be part of yours.

Light a candle. See where it takes you.
